Not likely. Abhi was appointed by Otellini. And Abhi has left to take the top slot at LSI logic as President and CEO.

LSI Logic Names Former Intel Executive Abhi Y. Talwalkar As President, Chief Executive

MILPITAS, Calif. (AP) -- LSI Logic Corp., a maker of microchips used in communications devices, on Monday said it has appointed Abhi Y. Talwalkar to succeed LSI founder Wilfred J. Corrigan as the company's president and chief executive.

Talwalkar, who joins LSI from Intel Corp.'s digital enterprise group where he served as vice president and co-general manager, was also elected to the company's board.

"Abhi brings a keen understanding of the global semiconductor industry, as well as the right combination of strategic insight and operational discipline to LSI Logic," said Corrigan, who becomes non-executive chairman of the company.

Talwalkar inherits a company on the verge of a turnaround in the midst of a tough market for the semiconductor industry. LSI last month posted first-quarter earnings that declined from the year-ago period, but forecast a continued profit in the current quarter.

Intel Corporation today announced that Abhi Talwalkar, co-general manager of the Digital Enterprise Group, is leaving Intel to pursue another opportunity. Senior Vice President Pat Gelsinger, who was appointed co-general manager of the Digital Enterprise Group when it was formed in January, will assume sole responsibility for the group.

Well I'll be damned. It actually sounds like -correct me if this is just wishful thinking here- that an executive position was eliminated at Intel???!!!!! *shock*

Now, if we could just have a little knowledge transfer with cisco, oracle etc. we'd be stylin'
