I bet blueberry jam is boiled so long that whatever caused your intense reaction would be gone. What you had sounds more like e coli or something from Chilean fecal matter imported on the berries than something inherent in them.

Blueberries are so good for you--you might want to try just a tiny bite of blueberry jam and see what happens.

Did your family come to America a very long time ago, or did they still have relatives in Germany they kept in contact with who died in World War II?

"I sure wouldn't buy blueberry jam after those blueberries had me crapping blood for two weeks."

You might want to see a doctor about that. Crapping blood once or twice in the course of a couple of days is nothing to get excited about for a middle aged guy, but that sounds like it could be something.

Time for the roto-rooter express, me thinks.
