Today I filled a relatively short shopping list of supplies for rebuilding an old truck. I had to go to three different big box stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart) because none carried all the needed items (not even equivalents, I wasn't being hung up on brands). The little auto supply companies I used to frequent for these items are all long since closed.

The change to big box stores has cost a lot of jobs, but in the end there is no greater choices or advantage for the consumer.
