A good general rule of thumb is that when the volatilities deviate from their 10 sma by 10% or so, there will be a very strong tendency to close the gap. Right now, the difference for the $VXN is 9.2%:

For the $VIX, the difference is 10.8%, with an upside gap:

For $QQV, the difference is 10.6%:

So the volatilities all appear headed upwards very soon, which will put downward pressure on price.

Normally the (5,3,3) get's confirmed by the (15,5,5)..

We shall see.
