I like the fact that the HUI is strongly outperforming bullion again today. And is strong even though the buck has gained back most of its early losses.

Need HUI close over 178.61 Looks like you got your wish! Now as to volume, I checked the HUI components: AEM - above average volume! CDE ~ ave vol. EGO - BIG volume. FCX ~ ave vol. GFI - ave vol. GG - slightly below ave vol. GLG - slightly below ave vol. GOLD - above average volume. (breaking out) GSS - ave vol. HL - slightly below ave vol. HMY - slightly below ave vol. IAG - ave volume KGC - above average volume MDG - ave vol. NEM - ave vol. The score card: 4 - slightly below ave vol. 7 - average volume 4 - above average volume So as a group, while the prices are going up, over all the $HUI is not seeing a rise in volume. I think a rise in volume is critical to defining a new up trend and showing the bottom has been put in. While it may come in a fews days, it doe snot look to be here yet! Is it enough to say prices will fail and the HUI will start down again, dunno. This Leg ultimately runs to HUI "350"...that's my call if this bottom holds. Hmmm, if we hit that level in the next 12 months, I'll buy your steak! You'll have to decide how you want it: Morton's, Ruth's Chris, Omaha Steaks, or on the hoof! <g> H3
