Groom’s 1942 chronicles America’s courageous comeback from the military and psychological devastation that followed the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

1347 days after Pearl Harbor the Americans celebrated VJ day with the surrender signed in Tokyo bay.

It's now been longer than that since 9/11. Instead of a courageous comeback we have had Junior's premature elation on an aircraft carrier, pyramids of torture, record setting opium production, and ever increasing deaths of Americans in the Cheney/Rumsfeld quagmire formerly known as Iraq.

In 1942 the American people did make great and courageous efforts to restore the peace and prosperity for which the country was founded. In 2002 we have looting and shooting orchestrated directly from the White House ,, the most corrupt and dishonest administration in the history of this country. Now years later the situation has only become worse.

In the minds of liberal media people, Forest Gump was great because it contained some germs of Anti-Americanism. Obviously "942: The Year That Tried Men’s Souls" is just pro American. The NY Times must attack that which is good.
