We created the situation. We set it all up by invading the country using pretexts that now look pretty darn stupid. We must take responsibility for the consequences. No one invited us to invade, and in fact many countries in the world were against invasion and counseled us against invading, thus whatever follows we alone should take responsibility for starting- that doesn't mean other people don't contribute, but our actions started the ball in motion. Now you can say what we did was justified, although I think it gets harder and harder to make that case, but I don't see how anyone can argue we didn't set the whole thing up, because we did.
