The recent non-deal is the McCain/(feingold) II of the current era, and will have similar effects. The anti-American Democrats will resume filibusters after 3 minor confirmations (which were beginning to embarrass them anyway.) If McCain keeps his "pussy squad" completely wimped out (likely) the REAL nuclear option will become common: recess appointments. There is an endless supply of pro-American judges-retired or approaching retirement-who would be just fine with a one-year hitch, if they might get a SHOT at the murderous Roe v Wade during that year. Many of us preferred that option BEFORE McCain's latest treason. ..

Furthermore, recess appointments are not really limited to one year, as you can simply ROTATE them when each year is up. Sooner or later, the Dems might even accidentally allow a vote-but they'd all look like DASCHLE in the meantime...

Ann Coulter would be more than willing to be Chief Justice for a year, and an Associate Justice for another year, then go on with her writing career. Rush might be willing to take an LOA for a year or two as well. Just breaking the lawyer tradition itself would be a much-needed reform, and HUGELY popular. What a POSITIVE TREND that could start!...
