I see the gap, I see the potential for an island reversal, but other than "Island's in the Stream", I don't know what an "island" has to do with trading.

Oh...wait, May 10? Sure, there's an island reversal that you describe but that's been there for a very long time (considering the time frame) and we are talking about a relatively short term trading signal.....and it had it's projected effect.

BTW, I wouldn't consider the SPX to show the island reversal you are outlining....the June ES does, however, although the gap left behind is very small.

I thought you were looking out into the future and hoping/pondering/dreading/whatever for an island reversal to form off the 18th....sorry.

Islands are generally where traders are "trapped" on the island., where price has gapped on either side where there is "air/water" between the gaps. That is no island, and if it were then it's finished as price has been covered IMO.

Edit this is an island reversal...
