I think Karl believes invasions are the cure for bad numbers.

Invasion = election success. I'm not sure why June 2005 instead of June 2006 unless Bush will be too much of a lame duck by then and couldn't get it through. Besides, with Iraq and Afghanistan spinning out of control, Bush needs something new to meddle with. Something rather more pristine. Plus, with either Iran or Syria, Bush can BLAME Iraq on either or both of them. After all, he toppled the government and replaced it with chaos so it couldn't possibly be HIS fault could it?
