John, seems to me that someone who doesn't place near Milton Friedman is on the wrong side. The explanations get a little complex, but look at the last few centuries. Where has application of your beliefs led to better results that Cowperwaithe's legacy in Hong Kong, or the recent Irish experience? Irving Kirzner, paraphrased; "The conclusions of economics are largely counterintuitive. Without guidance, the intelligent layman is likely to adopt positions inimical to the causes he purports to serve."
