Attacking the war isn't attacking the warriors, except in a few extremist cases. One of the big rightwing lies is that anti-war protesters "hate the troops". In fact they just hate the war which kills and maims the troops.

I'm sure there are many many troops who wish this war were over, and had never been started. About 35,000 US troops have now been killed, maimed, wounded or have needed medical care.
There are also tens of thousands of US troops who were promised they could go home sooner but have been stuck in Iraq. Then you have their families and friends back home.

Some say patriotism means you support a war no matter what.
Another way of looking at it is that you only go to war as a last resort when you really have to. Obviously, Bush-Cheney do not believe in the latter. In fact they seem to thrive on war. We know Halliburton does.

Hopefully our offensive actions make a difference. One thing we know, we need to get out of Iraq ASAP and never should have gone in there without a well thought-out post-invasion plan and more allies to begin with. Bush blew it on Iraq, though some of his supporters will never see it that way.
