This is a very important point Nadine. If he accepted that we jews react like iranians do, whether they live in tel aviv, tehran or NYC, he would see the big picture much better.
The post that blew me off this thread had to do with religous jews protesting against israel. The person who posted that would hate these regligous fanatics but used their crap to attack jews. So many religious, ethnic and national cross currents. Mike

As to Israel being a theocracy, any open society will have diverging opinions and ethnic groups. From what I understand of Israel's marriage and immigration laws, it seems to be coercing some form of "racial" purity. At some point in time Israelis will choose real democracy over some form of aparthied regime. South Africans made the leap and I am pretty sure Israelis will do the same ...eventually.
