Dan Rather's story on GW was true. It had already been proven and was obvious anyway. Of course he used his family clout to get out of combat, avoid being disciplined and leave the Guard a year early. Anyone who doubts that is laughably naive.

To be fair to GW, we were all doing that sort of thing in those days. We the upper-educated class that is. Except fopr guys like Kerry who actually volunteered for combat and proved they were braver souls.
