It might be worthwhile to tack "American" to the front of the name. We are visiting relatives in Germany, and my wife's brothers and sisters are complaining about exactly the same things. The details differ, but the general feeling of the politicians arguing over ideology instead of focussing on middle class economic issues is the same.

Some more thoughts.

The Pragmatist Party FAQ

Q. I believe strongly in a woman's right to choose/right to life. So strongly that I cannot vote for a candidate that doesn't support it. What is your party's stance on the issue?

A. The party doesn't have a stance on that issue. Individual candidates may, but the party as a whole is determined not to get distracted from its core issues which involve strengthening the middle class and providing for more people to achieve the American Dream. This is an issue that is often used by the other two parties as a wedge to divide and distract Americans. We are not going to play that game. By focussing on single issues, they've been able to avoid making hard decisions that affect most Americans.

Q. I believe that affirmative action is important to address a historical wrong. What is your party's stance on the issue?

A. We strongly believe that the best way to help out Americans of all races is to provide a level playing field with opportunity for everyone. We can't promise that everyone who is willing to work will succeed, but we are working towards a system where that is a lot more likely than the present one.

Wake up, you are not a Dem. What do you have in common with the folks that are running the Dem party. You love the war? The real conservatives should think the same way about the Rep party. Are they evangelical?

I am all for a third party but I don't see it happening.

A third party might not be successful, but it might bring some sanity to the process. A centerist, pragmatic Party that favors the middle class might bring America back to it's roots. It might make these guys realize that that represent people, not dogma.

I hear ya!

BTW last nite, an Okie won the American Idol contest and the press turned that into a red vs blue contest.
