Because that's the internationally accepted division, reiterated by Abbas today as he met with President Bush. The settlements outside the green line are illegal. I hope I live to see every one dismantled.


That is not true. It's only "internationally accepted" by the Arabs. UN Resolution 242 speaks of "negotiated borders" (and does not, incidentally, mention "Palestine" at all), so that's the the real international standard - negotiations between the parties.

So what is your principle for why the Arabs should get a total do-over on 1967? Are you really ready to prevent any peace settlement that doesn't hand the Old City of Jerusalem back to the Arabs (Jews removed, natch. It's never "ethnic cleansing" when Jews are removed) and redivide Jerusalem?
