I believe that the patient is too weak for a drastic operation. The budget deficit is ballooning to the size bigger than Andre the Giant, the economy is weak, the military is under-manned/womanned, most the the world's population is against us, etc. etc. Impeachments is a drastic measure which will polarize the country even further. The market will drop 5% to 10% in one day, simply because of the uncertainty and the market hates that environment. What is the net result? People's retirements and savings accounts will shrink, there will be more and more defaults on mortgages. The economy will go to the tank, more treasury borrowings, more at the mercy of China and Japan, etc etc. When all said than done, which will take many many months, we will come towards the end of 2006: midterm election. What can we learn from the orientals that we Americans know the theory but seldom put into practice? Just recall the famous words of Ho Chi Minh: We are patient people. America wants quick results. So where does it take us? Wait for November 2006: RESTORE CHECKS AND BALANCES . Work with your local reps and get the democratic party send the right candidates, regain congress from the neocons, and have an effective opposition party. Let there be stalemate and deadlock until 2008, override any veto from the President, then in 2008 have an honest election. With the democrats in majority we can have voting machines that have paper and audit trails. Remember the words from the orient: Patience is what we have. Patience is what Americans are lacking Peace bro.
