I agree with you that this question of British vs American grammar is not a weighty subject worthy of much effort.

But I do find the degeneration of discussions interesting enough to invest some time.

Perhaps you would recap what your POV is in contrast to my POV so that I can see the difference you see.

I have not observed your expressing any unresolved points of view other than that "Mike and me went" is the Queen's English and that I'm confused about dots. Are those the POVs about which we have differences?

Regarding the former, that "POV" is simply incorrect. Correct usage is "Mike and I went." Regarding the latter, you may be indirectly right. I'm certainly confused as to what dots have to do with anything.
