The American people are now against the rightwing. And if you rightwingers think you can lie and spin your way out of this, you can't. That will just dig a bigger hole around you. You also can't startg anymore unilateral wars to distract everyone from what's really going on. The only way for you to get Americans to trust you again is by coming clean and confessing. That means letting DElay go to jail and the chips fall where they may. Also admitting lies on Iraq and firing those responsible, even if that means Cheney goes. And handing over the outer of the CIA agent Plame as well as those colluding with Enron and others on the phony energy crises. Karl Rove should also be fired. If not, then Bush-Cheney may very well be impeached. What will result, whether you like it or not, is that McCain or someone like him will be your new leader. Someone who is against the religious right and can work well with democrats. DEms and GOP moderates together are the new majority.
