I won't do a long winded one on COTs today, as I assume anybody who wanted to get on board anti-USD trades has done so now, and were eable to catch today's action. But clearly the forensics point to a large spec/fund short against the currencies and in favor of the USD, a real reversal from March. Most of the spec shorts in the 10-30 year have been squeezed out, although not so in the shorter duration 5's and ED. The commercials still look heavy long the ED, suggesting the rate increase expectations there are still too high. Also pointing to some spread widening.

If by some miracle the French do ratify that thing, the Euro will explode upward (as will gold)...

If they don't, gold should do well too. after all, what other alternatives are there, clownbucks?

either way, gold wins, which is probably why miners were so strong today.
