Good post. Makes no sense coming from a former successful prosecutor.

Don't be stunned. Often there is no right answer to a question. Most politicians would have side-stepped the question and changed the subject.

Of course the real answer is probably "no" but Kerry was being hit at the time by the rightwing trying to say he was soft on defense, so he refused to give them more ammo. Also, he had the liberal vote tied up, so why pander to them?
No need. Not one of his best moments I admit but a political reality.

Botomline, let's look foreard, take back congress next year, impeach these bandits then elect a new president much more honest and sensible than Bush. Won't be hard to find.

Re: When Kerry was asked point blank whether he would have given Bush "war powers" even had he known that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, he responded that he would have done so regardless.

I was stunned!

Stunned, indeed. I felt utterly betrayed and apoplectic. I've never forgiven that botoxed slack-jaw Skull & Bones fascist.

If you examine Kerry's campaign rhetoric on the plight of the Palestinians, you'll find him to be even more odious than Bush is. The full prostration of John Kerry before AIPAC and occupationist Ariel Sharon's fungal feet is still a repulsive image in my mind.
