<Chimps with access to both food and cocaine will ignore food and ingest cocaine until they starve to death. Humans are not much different>

I don't believe chimps would do that. I have never heard of starvation being a significant problem for humans in regard to cocaine.

Diego Maradona was allegedly addicted to cocaine and he is NOT in danger of starving. I think the theory is false.

Cocaine does not cause starvation.

Cocaine used to be legal and was once upon a time included in Coca Cola [so I hear]. I don't think starvation was a problem. Neither was the cocaine a particularly great problem, apparently.

Humans know what they are doing. Coca Cola, with our without the cocaine, is not exactly a nutrient supply. It doesn't take many brains to work that one out. Even Chinese can figure it out, without a skull and crossbones on the label.
