The entire Iraq War as well as 9-11 were both used masterfully by Bush-Rove as political hammers to club anyone they wanted over the head. Any democrat who was against any real pressure on Iraq would be mocked as a wimp who didn't care about terrorism and supported Saddam's WMD's. Anyone who demanded accountability, planning and patience (like veterans champions and Silver Star winners Kerry and Cleland ) was attacked as not caring about national security and not supporting the troops. Look what happened to Max Cleland when they ran ads with him with Saddam and Osama, then ran a smear campaign claiming he'd blown himself up with his own grenade back at base, not in combat.

Quit attacking Kerry on this. The Bushies simply tricked him, gave him a damned if he did, damned if he didn't choice, played dishonest and dirty and pulled the wool over the whole country's eyes. Sure Dennis Kucinich was against the Iraq War, but he's against every war.
