re: It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag.

- Father Dennis Edward O'Brian, USMC

The founding fathers, it seems to me, were both protestors and soldiers. And if they hadn't been protestors first, they wouldn't have been soldiers.

''He didn't want to die, but nonetheless he signed up for military service and he understood what that meant,'' said his brother, Tony Lourey.

I am afraid he/she believed what he/she was told to believe.

Remember Memorial Day for what it represents...

The soldier does not give us freedom; he/she defends it. Its an important distinction.

It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag.

How would we know? We are never allowed to see a coffin to know that its draped by a flag.
