It's more evidence that in Government, incompetence is rewarded. For instance, the people who screwed up at Ruby Ridge and Waco all got raises and promotions. All the FBI "counter-terror" who should have caught 911 did as well. The man responsible for the CIA 911 and Iraq screwup, George J. Tenet, got his job because of the number one job requirement. Being good at shmoozing congress. The Intel committees have two groups in them. The Pols on the right insist on knowing everything the CIA is up to. The Pols on the left think the organization is inherently evil, and want to do away with it. You need someone who can spend most of his time pacifying these people. The one that really gets me is Norman Mineta, the Secretary of Transportation. He was in charge of our last line of defense, the airport checkers. He had put letters out forbidding the profiling of Arabs before 911. And fined the airlines millions if they did. That is why they were able to get on the planes so easily. He not only allowed the breach in our defenses, he might as well have had them announce, "now preboarding Muslim terrorists." The man should have had to clean his desk out on 912. Instead, he is STILL in charge, and is still stopping profiling in the name of PC. This is one of Bush's biggest mistakes after 911. We have been lucky. They could have hijacked again based on his actions. You, of course, are buying the line that Bush manufactured "evidence" to invade Iraq. I won't bother to refute that view again. You will never believe anything else.
