Prejudice and science (and pseudo science) - a long and complex history- lessons to be learned there, I think, regarding the use of science to justify any cherished prejudice: victorianweb.org Speaking of prejudice- when I read Down and Out in Paris and London- I was very surprised at the many anti-semitic references. It surprised me. What surprised me even more was that no one else in my book group noticed the references- until I pointed them out. And it's not like they were subtle.
