I am the most sensitive person in my family about every kind of product we choose. Usually everyone goes along, but I have not even been able to convince my daughter of the health risks of dairy products. She cried a lot when she saw a film about dairy factory farming, but is somehow able to compartmentalize data like that because she really does not like soy milk, and loves cheese. She is a lot more selfish than I am.

It will be interesting to see if I can convince a household of adults that we shouldn't have fireworks, which are a major family tradition and the high point of summer. Not as easy as switching out the kinds of sugar and chocolate and coffee we buy! I think it is a lot easier to accomplish change like this when children are younger and are not a large part of the decison-making process. I will do my best. It is extremely too bad that there is apparently no alternative to the Chinese manufactured fireworks.
