That's the popular theory, but the Flynn Effect is the scientific fact. Average intelligence has increased. There are plenty of reasons I can think of for that, countering the "rich get richer and the poor get children" aka "the brainless breed". Hmmm. I wonder if the super-bright average is increasing. I don't recall seeing a measure of that. Maybe the average is going up but the proportion of super-bright is declining and it's them who are not having children. Mqurice

Okay, I've got the word on the place to invest. Israel! I decided that PM I sent you was too important to not disclose for public profit. Malcolm was saying that the Ashkenazi Jews weren't that bright going to Islamic Jihad murder central. <Hi Malcolm. They've done a LOT bettter than how things were going for them in Europe, where you might recall they suffered concentration/extermination camps. Anyway, there are more than just Ashkenazi Jews in Israel. For all I know, the Ashkenazis weren't even the leaders of the Zionist movement, though I believe Albert Einstein was in favour of Israel and I read that he was Ashkenazi variety. When you look at their DNA, Ashkenazi Jews are closely related to the area, being a hybrid of Bedouin/North African and Utar Pradesh Brahmin. Maybe it's better to be among their own than among those less-related Aryanazis in northern Europe. Plus, the climate is a lot nicer there than in northern Europe...brr... And, there are umpty million willing workers surrounding them. Try getting a German to do a decent day's work for small pay! The unions and regulations have created major unemployment in Germany. Getting the French to work wouldn't be a lot easier. Thanks for drawing my attention it. It looks like they've made a good choice. They just need to finish the wall and get the Palestinians agreed and once again Arabia will be the best place in the world, leading the world, as it once did. With all the oil in the area, they have got great advantages. Imagine the dopey people who selected Canada or New Zealand as "good" places. If the world was full of them instead of you and me, it would be super-rich and super-civilized. So, once Israel has finished the wall, come to some arrangements with the Palestinians and the USA has tamed Islamic Jihad in Iraq and everyone goes back to having a nice life, enjoying their families, making some money and doing the usual human things [megalomania excluded I hope], Arabia will have a vast renaissance and lead the world again. Saddam was like Darth Vader. He presumably thought he was doing a good thing, but he was from the Dark Side. So, invest in Israel. They have the legal systems and stuff and once they can do what companies do = expand and enter new markets and hire new people and invent more things and make more stuff and earn a lot of money, you will enjoy the ride from the ground floor. Forget China. They don't have Ashkenazi Jews by the thousand. India won't compete either. Indonesia is no threat in an economic sense. The USA has had its day but is helping get the new era going in the cradle of civilisation. Maybe there are foreign investment rules and we can't invest or live in Israel. Any investment suggestions.
