Today also marks the 20th anniversary of the Heysel Stadium tragedy .....

.......... one of the most significant events in European football history.

bbc.co.uk

Ironically, it comes the same week as Liverpool's epic come-from-behind victory over AC Milan in Istanbul, arguably one of the greatest comebacks in the history of soccer.

I was still in grade school when Kennedy ran against Nixon..........We had a mock election in my class and I was one of two people that voted for Kennedy. He ignited the spark that made me a Democrat and still flows through my blood today. It's the "stand up and be counted against any odds" rebel attitude that I feel is so basic to the America I love.

I have the autograph of his brother, Robert Kennedy. I got the autograph when Bobby was touring New York State in his successful bid for Senator from that state. I was a young girl in those days but won't ever forget the look in his eyes. He had grey=blue eyes that appeared to have looked beyond hell itself.
