Depends what they do with that freedom, don't you think? If they chose to treat the US Army, but not Al Qaeda, as an enemy to be torn down and hindered in its operations, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Actually, it's a good thing, period. That is freedom of the press. And it's particularly a good thing in times like the present when it's terribly difficult for reporters to take critical stances vis a vis the Bush administration.

Freedom of the press means the freedom to be critical, very critical, highly critical. You name it. Just ask the Clinton administration after any morning of those editorials from the NYTimes.

My feeling is this: With freedom comes RESPONSIBILITY. When the Press sets out to Damage our military and redeem our enemy I feel that they have ABUSED their freedom and ignored their RESPONSIBILITY to report the TRUTH the whole truth and nothing but the truth. There have been so many stories hurredly printed, with no sound support for the sole reason to try and undermine our Administration and the Military. I think there should be some PAY BACK. jdn
