The Anti-Smarts are a niche market, seems to me. Maybe the MSM are content to leave them in their echo-chamber niche.

Um, if the Anti-Smarts are a niche market, how did Bush get reeelected? All of Smartland was assuring us, as I recall, that there was no chance this would happen.

I'm going to stretch a bit here and use the w-word. I think you go to far to say that and it is w-w-w-wrong. <g> Just because they don't see America's interests the same way you do doesn't mean they don't care about them.

So why didn't the question come up on Charlie Rose?

They may care about America's interests, but they seem to define America's interests chiefly as the good opinion of the rest of Smartland, which is what I think they mean when they wail about how America has sunk in 'international opinion'. The recommendations for improving our standing seem to involve supporting various proto-world government institutions, like the Hague or the ICC or the UN. One really gets the impression that they regard American sovreignty as a dangerous thing that needs muzzling.

The maddening thing is that seem just A-OK with the rest of the world, nothing to worry about there. They think that diplomats can end war by treaty.
