Re: We should not pretend US soldiers are sadistic fascistic types.

I'm puzzled how you could consider posting such a denial of reality on this thread. Unlike you, Brumar, most of the members of this board are literate, informed and reality-based.

The accusations about Camp Delta and the new addition at Guantanemo, Abu Ghraib, Camp Bucca and the dozen or so other Iraq torture complexes, the "extraordinary renditions", and much more that remains completely unexplored by the mainstream media are all real, Brumar. It is only ill-informed Americans such as yourself who live in denial.

America is evil, Brumar. America is employing sadistic Nazi SS type guards who are murdering the prisoners in the most horrid fashion every week. When our own soldiers aren't doing the job, they are shipping detainees to such charming locations as Uzbekistan where the police have been known to boil prisoners alive. It's not a pretty thing, I understand why you would prefer to live in your comfortable fantasy world of make believe about the nature of war and especially the fact that the U.S. military absolutely is violating every child's fantasy about how noble our soldiers are.

Grow up. Our soldiers are not noble. Hell, they're not even decent. They are war criminals. Doing what their masters all the way up to Don Rumsfeld and Junior himself are demanding of them.

What this is all about, Brumar, is state terrorism. The U.S. military thinks that if it only applies enough really despicable and indecent torture to the Iraqis, the Afghanis and whoever else is unlucky enough to get caught in the net that the military is going to be able to get the populations of Iraq and Afghanistan to cower in fear and obsequiously allow the American corporate thieves to haul off all their assets.

It will never work. The Iraqis and the Afghanis have the home court advantage and centuries of study of how to humiliate foreign invaders. America is going to be bled to death, week by week, month by month, year by year until the American public is too weary to allow the criminals in the White House to continue to lead the nation around by the nose.

How in the hell do you know that the the U.S. military doesn't have sadistic fascists in their midst, Brumar. Are you in complete denial of the photographic evidence already provided? Are you in denial that we've been told by Seymour Hersh among others that the photos showing the worst of the sadism are still not being made available to the public?

It's time for you to grow up and face reality. America is a criminal state.

A scan of all posts seems to show it's generally populated by
a group of left leaning echo chamber groupthinkers. The few
non-libs posting there are mostly ignored.

The libs have yet to post a single article or POV that
unequivocally portrays Bush, the Admin or any Republicans
positively. They have numerous posts that are quite negative
however.

Almost to a person, the libs paint Bush, the Admin & most
Republicans as extremists with an inflexible agenda. They do
not agree with anything the Admin has done or proposed. They
support the filibuster. They want Bolton rejected along with
every judicial nominee because they are, after all "extreme".
They are convinced it is official policy to abuse POW's &
detainees, or that abuses are common & widespread
(unofficially sanctioned). They were against intervention in
Iraq & think everything we are doing in the GWOT is wrong.

Any complaints they have about the left are always include a
harsher attack on the right, replete with typical DNC style
talking points that have little or nothing to do with reality.

Odds are none of them voted for Bush in either election. I
doubt any of them have voted for a Republican at the federal
level in the last decade, if ever.

Uh huh. "Centrists", every one of them.
