Well, the New Republic use to be reliably liberal, the reliably conservative, now it's back to being fairly reliably liberal sort of. Probably was a bad choice. I should have put in the New Yorker, which in the past five years has been, at least in its Talk of the Town columns, as reliably left wing as the Nation. We should all apologize to Ned White for what has happened to what he spent so much effort making a really fine and nonpartisan magazine.
