Laurin, ALL Resource currencies will appreciate, so the differntial between the AUD and the ZAR shouldn't be too great.. One way out of this is to switch over to USD as the reporting currency, which is possible in some jurisdictions.. But most of this translation effects are purely a matter of reporting conventions. Companies nowadays don't even hedge against translation losses. Another way out is to publish a second voluntary Balance Sheet and operating statement in a reserve currency, say the USD.. rgrds CROSSY
