many of the large corporations are very impressed by Ph.D.s.

and many will pay for ph d's schooling too.

my question was not if it was worth going to grad school.. but was it worth putting kids and family in debt... so what if it postpones three or four years of advancement. They will advance with others while getting their masters degree. Often passing those who were hired with masters because of experiences they got in division locations vs going directly into a corp. position.

just another alternative for parents. I do not look at it as a big penalty. but then i went nights for bs.
