I think I posted a while back that even organ donors are anesthetized when the organs are surgically "harvested" after death. The dead can have muscle contractions and, such being the case, the organs could be damaged during "harvesting."

<Note: Harvesting is in quotes because I HATE to see that word used in that context, but that is the technically correct word.> - Holly
