First of all, does the Zarkawi talked about by the Bush spin-machine actually exist?

Or is "He" just a spin-machine creature?

If yes, he can be injured, recover, be injured, recover, many
times over. Remember there was a time when Osama was "everywhere" and behind "everything".

Now Osama is (take your choice)

-- on the run
-- in a cave
-- getting kidney dialysis(sp?) treatment

but he has been WITHDRAWN from active spin-machine insertions.

Providing he cooperates by not giving messages to Aljazeera
he eventually can be declared "we think he is no longer living"

Fictional spin-created enemies are much preferable because they can be described any way you want--pictured as nastily as you wish--and then can be subdued at the right strategic moment.
Usually, however, when meeting their end they are physically destroyed in some massive way so there's no body to bother with!

Namaste!

Jim

It's entirely possible that Zarqawi doesn't even exist. The US Military admits it doesn't know if he has one leg or two. If he has one leg, their admitting that he got away from them by jumping out of a 30 MPH car under an overpass and limping away is quite a feat.

If he is the great mastermind of the Iraq insurgency which is costing us $1B/week, the US Military should put a $1 billion price on his head. It would be much cheaper but not nearly as profitable as staying in endless war.

Heck, the US Military keeps picking up the '#3 Man in AQ' time and again and then saying...well, mebbe not. Of course, they don't even know if AQ is a single organization or just a useful catch-all for anyone with a bomb and a gripe.
