Lack of regional and international support was for one reason. Bush's complete lack of salesmanship and diplomatic skills. He basically told the world, you are with us or against us, and in either case, we don't need your help.

A kid in school will tell you that with that attitude, you are very unlikely to get any support, even if it was for feeding starving people in Africa. We didn't leave room for saving face and we didn't leave room for sharing the glory or spoils. We didn't leave room for allies to WANT to help us. That blame, I lay squarely on Bush's shoulders.

The lack of allies and support doesn't mean we were wrong to invade. It simply means, Bush sucks at coalition building. His father was a master at it.
