Libraries are nice, but, for example, I was trying to be "good" and not buy a book I am dying to read, and I am still #94 in the queue to get it.

(The Kite Runner, about kite flying in Afghanistan, only $9.24 from Amazon.com.)

On the other hand, if I buy it, after I read it, I can donate it to the library for a tax break.

If I'd kept the comic books, Mad magazines, and science fiction paperbacks all nicely wrapped in plastic, they'd be worth more than your saved allowance, even allowing for compound interest. -g-

I am expecting a delivery of three copies of The Trivium: The Liberal Arts of Logic, Grammar, and Rhetoric any day now. One for me, and one each for the boys. Library doesn't have it.
amazon.com

I will probably die broke, a hopeless helpless bookaholic. ;^)
