I am from a blue state, and I don't understand it either. It may have something to do with the fact that the argument makes no sense...

Capital punishment is not a prevention,
it is a reaction to murders which have already happened.

Some percentage of those killed by capital punishment are innocent and therefore murdered themselves.

Really, you don't have to think that deeply to get it, but you do have to think.
