I don't know, John. One thing I've struggled with is whether or not non-U.S. citizens deserve to avail themselves of our legal system. My first inclination is to say that if you are caught fighting the U.S. in a war, that your release is simply a function of a negotiated agreement at the end of that war. For instance, during our fights with Germany and Japan, we held many detainees who we caught fighting us. Sometimes we'd negotiate prisoner swaps. In some cases, the remained in prison until a peace treaty was signed.

And yet this administration did not want to follow the Geneva Conventions and so would not declare these people POWs.

Tell me something.......do you honestly believe a boy of 14 or a man of 72 is a threat to America?

If your answer is the same as mine, and it turns out that these men/boys are innocent.......how can you throw them to the wolves with no Geneva Conventions and no legal system? Wonder if that happened to you or someone in your family? Would you want another country to be able to do whatever they wanted.......like beating a 22 year old guy so badly his legs turned to pulp and would have had to have been amputated had he lived? That is what has happened under ole Rummie. That is what happened when people have no rights and no protection.
