I see Felt as the functional equivalent of Linda Tripp. And if you think Linda Tripp was (on balance) a heroine, then, it seems to me that you ought to agree that Felt was (on balance) a hero.

A much more problematic figure, to me, is John Dean, for two reasons. First, if G. Gordon Liddy is correct, John Dean orchestrated the break-in for personal reasons (to retrieve information damaging to his wife, and by extension, himself.) Second, Dean rolled over in order to save his own skin.
