Nixon disgraced himself and the presidency. His undoing was a character flaw based on paranoia. He was a brilliant man who accomplished much, but he was hated by the majority of Americans when he resigned.

I suspect the daughter just wanted to cash in before Woodward and Bernstein made another few million off their father.

Smithee, I agree with your take on this development. I have serious problems with a government agent running to the press and have to wonder what Felt's incentive to do this was at the time.

I wonder also how long the daughter has known and how many others over the years have been aware of Felt's role--aside from Woodward and Bernstein, of course.

Considering that Felt is afflicted with Alzheimer's disease, one surely has to ask how reliable his account of the events of so long ago can be now. - Holly
