Overall, airline management has failed to deal with the unloading issue. The USA major carriers can't even unload a 737 quickly. The supervisors are not getting someone on the jetways immediately so the plane can be unbottoned.

Another issue is the size of the terminals. Many cannot handle the simultaneous pax load from a couple 747 or 340/380s. Airlines and airports need to find a quicker method of distributing the pax as they exit.

I would suggest a visit to most Virgin Blue terminals in Australia. Dual exits are the norm, and pax get upset if its not available. Virgin Blue is primarily domestic transportation.
