My position is not "untenable". I like the assault weapons ban- and I still like it. Lots of people wanted it to be kept in place- including many law enforcement departments (which I assume to be at least as informed as you and the choir on weapons, and probably more so). I made a mistake about machine guns- but that's hardly an untenable position, that's a mistake of fact. I understand the need to glorify the "arguments" that go on here, but your post takes that a little far...imo. That's how I see it.
