First off, Gitmo has allowed inspectors in to afford the prisoners the Geneva convention rights. Mistakes have been made and I think the culpability goes all the way up to Rumsfeld, who should have been fired long ago. Having said that, I don't have to worry about my family getting put in places like Gitmo, because we don't own guns and would never be caught carrying one and firing one on U.S. soldiers. LOL. I guess you don't know that there are people in Gitmo, Abu Ghraib and Gulag Afghanistan who did not carry weapons. Apparently, you did not read about the guy who got tortured to death....he was 22, very shy, the father of two, a taxi cab driver and did not carry a weapon. He was murdered by American soldiers. Your family is not safe just because you do not carry guns. Your naiveté is showing once again. Can't say the same for the vast majority of folks in Gitmo. You fire on U.S. soldiers during a war, then you can't expect to get away scott free. Sorry, tejek. You're barking up the wrong tree, if you are expecting sympathy out of my. Sympathy? No I am asking for civilized treatment of our POWs. Third world countries and tyrants treat their POWs inhumanely. I thought the US was different. Thanks for correcting me. As far as the average age of Gitmo detainees, it is right in the range of the most probably for angry young Middle East men. There are always outliers included, which you managed to pick and claim that they are the majority, which is false. But there are young boys blowing themselves up all the time in the Middle East. To assume that they are innocent just because they are very young or very old is just naive. The tweenies were from Afghanistan and they were proven to be innocent after being kept locked up in Gitmo for nearly three years. Its really unfortunate...........crap is be perpetrating in the name of America and you choose to remain oblivious but you will be one of the first to scream bloody murder if an American is tortured to death in say an Iranian prison. And there will be a Joe right behind you saying: See......we did nothing and they tortured one of our own. I told you they were bad, bad people and we must exterminate them. Typical American thinking....we are such good, good guys and never deserve the merde we get served back.
