I think it is stupid to send the best army in the world into a situation where these expensively trained soldiers get murdered one by one. It's not doing anything at all that is in the interests of the United States.

I understand that the Iraq war has been one of the most profitable wars in US history, and by a large margin. This seems plausible given the hallucinatory amount of pork that has accompanied the whole "Homeland Security" game.

Remember, in wars profits are measured in dollars and losses in lives, it's as simple as that most of the time.

Of course, this is being led by the same president who has given a stern warning that he will veto certain stem cell research legislation that passes congress, because it's against the sanctity of life - go figure.

Think about the oil. I sure don't want to pack the bags from one of the largest potential oil markets in the world. You don't start one of the largest geopolitical divisions of power in the largest oil market in the world and leave.
