Elroy, That's the best way to get to a "planet earth" mentality instead of a "nation-state" mentality. It could take a few hundred years, but it sounds pretty good to me. Now if we can only get the rest of these humans to speak exclusively in English..... There's a lot of culture that people want to see preserved just for the sake of it. It defines uniqueness, identity, a sense of belonging. Language, as you mentioned, is part of it. Sure, lines are going to be blurred as cultures clash and intermix, and as interracial and inter-ethnic marriages become more common. But who said we have to speed that process along by declaring every nation a "melting pot"? Or subjecting every nation to some global government? Tenchusatsu
