"...what arabs don't have a sense of humor?"

1) People have always laughed their asses off at bigotted jokes.

2) You have made quite a few posts that allege or presume things that are false. That simply adds to your credibility as the quintessential ignoramous of SI. Let's add to that list that you presumed me to be an Arab, or to speak for arabs.

3) Most Arabs I have met do have a sense of humor. It is you who has a poor sense of humor; and you are apparently uneducable in that regard.

4) It would be to your benefit to gain some education and understanding of other cultures (including the non-extreme redneck culture of the USA). For example here is a lesson on humor and decency:

Humor, as a vehicle, is generally used as an ice-breaker to alleviate discomfort. It involves a comical quality which appeals to a sense of the ludicrous or absurdly incongruous.

It is often used to open discussion on an issue or topic that is otherwise un-discussable. In such cases there is often the risk of offending someone. However, it is no more OK to use humor to humiliate, degrade, or otherwise cause harm to other persons, than it is to use other forms of injurious conduct. Any efforts to do that is simply abusive.

5) Such behavior is not justified by noting that persons who are not injured by the behavior think it is funny. We all laugh at slap stick on the stage and screen; that doesn’t make it ok to place banana peals in the path and laugh at people who slip and fall over the cliff.

6) When someone tells a jokester they have been offended at humor which they consider to be in someway harmful, a decent person apologizes and seeks their forgiveness for the wrong that has been done. Such things are not justified by getting some uneffected or biased third party to laugh.

7) I am sorry that you were not taught to treat other human beings with more consideration and I am sorry for your children who you are apparently teaching to think cruelty is funny.

regards,
Jewel
