re: Excuse me, but why are you so hung up on hatred? It's the "attack the messenger" strategy. You "hate" the war, as many of us do, so you point out the costs. They can't argue with the facts, so they equate "hating" the war to "hating America". It's just another form of the "America, Love It or Leave It" bumper sticker syndrome from the Vietnam era. I agree. That's why I asked the question. Don't let them put you on the defensive. The true patriot is the person that continually questions the actions of the country, and that is sorely needed right now. The "just go along with the program" folks add nothing. I agree with you 100%. This notion that true patriots are people who passively walk lockstep behind their gov't is a belief of Bush and Rove and promoted by their minions like Coulter and Hannity and Rush.
